our man in bagan

Bagan is one of the most stunning places I’ve been. Over 2000 Buddhist temples, almost all dating from the  11th to 13th century, spread out across the plains to the West of a curve in the Ayerwaddy River in North-Eastern Myanmar. There are so few foreigners here that we’ve felt most of the time that we have the place to ourselves – cruising around on bikes, climbing up the outside of the pagodas for incredible views and hopping inside to see Buddha in his various guises.
